Brew methods
What is a gooseneck kettle?
A slender curved spout helps you place water deliberately when brewing coffee.
A spout made for placement
A gooseneck kettle has a long, narrow, curved spout. Compared with a wide-spout kettle, it makes a small, deliberate stream easier to manage. It does not brew coffee by itself: you still need coffee, a filter, and a brewer.
Why use one for pour-over?
Pour-over responds to where and how quickly you add water. A fine spout can help you wet the bed evenly and repeat your pouring pattern. Practice matters more than chasing a perfect circle.
Electric versus stovetop
An electric kettle heats on a powered base; a stovetop kettle is designed for a hob. They are not interchangeable. BrewNeck is an electric kettle for US 110V, with 900ml capacity and digital presets.
A budget buying checklist
Check voltage first, then capacity, water-contact material, and controls. BrewNeck offers 900ml, ~1200W, 304 stainless steel water contact, a digital display and presets for $69. Do not assume extra safety or holding functions unless the supplied manual confirms them.
Dial numbers are relative starting points. Keep a record of your beans, dose, setting, and taste to make the next adjustment easier.
